BYC inks Agreement of Cooperation with MSU Maguindanao

To enable the youth in reaching their full potential, the Commission together with MSU- Maguindanao signed an agreement giving the youth a common ground– to recognize their significance and become peace advocates in the province and across the region.

The ceremony commenced through a message delivered by IPDM Director Grant Warren Lu giving emphasis to the importance of youth in engaging various programs leading to inculcate wider understanding of peace and inclusivity instead negative narrative.

During the event, the MSU- Maguindanao, as stated by Maguindanao Province Commissioner Nass Dunding is the first academic institution to sign memorandum of cooperation in the whole area of BARMM and whatever the impacts and success of such will be a best practices to other provinces in academe engagement.

Further, Chairperson MP Marjanie S. Mimbantas Macasalong, PhD highlighted the role of the youth, as he mentioned a famous quotation:”The youth is the hope of our nation”.

As he expounded, though these words appear cliché, still there’s a necessity to remind everyone that youth are the makers of change and development. And in order for them to create a better society, the leaders have to provide them necesarry tools.

Further, MSU Maguindanao Chancellor in his message also mentioned that the institution is giving attention on the peace bridging mechanisms tools to its youth students.

The signing of cooperation will ensure youth an avenue for engagement and participation, giving them space to turn their visions into reality through the wisdom of elders.
