In connection with the Commission’s upcoming program on peace and environment protectionโ€” “Peace and Environmental Camp 2021”, the Commission inks partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy-Lanao Del Sur Provincial Office on May 26, 2021.

The partnership made possible through BYC Chairperson Marjanie S.M Mimbantas, PhD together Asmarie M. Labao, Provincial Director MENRE-LDS who made discussion on the concerns amongst youth in connection to Peacebuilding and Security, and its possible interventions and mechanisms.

As a counterpart, the Ministry provided 100 seedlings for Tree Adoption and Tree Growing, and assigned a monitoring team to keep track on the said Tree Planting activity.

Additionally, the Office assigned key speakers on Environmental Protection and Leadership.

Along this is the featuring of the program through a documentary film entitling “Moriatao O Ranao” which means “The Descendants of Lanao” depicting the transferred values of the people of Lanao.The program envisions the idea of unity and culture of peace amongst youth through giving importance on preserving and protecting one’s environment as one of the mandates of the RA 11054 otherwise known as the Bangsamoro Organic Law.
