BYC, TMPP inks MOU on strategic partnership

COTABATO CIY—The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) and The Moro Peace Project (TMPP) inked on Wednesday, January 19, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Cotabato City.

BYC Chairperson Marjanie Macasalong and TMPP Chairman and Managing Director Hadji Harris Ismael signed the MOU that creates a collaborative partnership between the two parties in programs, projects and activities on youth capacity development and empowerment, policy development, advocacy, and research across the spectrum of peacebuilding.

Through the MOU, TMPP will align all its youth-related programs and activities to the Bangsamoro Youth Transition Priority Agenda (BYTPA) of BYC to “create a space for the Bangsamoro youth to gain more knowledge and learn about the culture of peace and its role, and the importance of peacebuilding towards sustainable peace and development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) territories.

The ceremonial signing was witnessed by BYC Planning Unit Chief Datu Raid Salik, BYC Development Management Services Unit Chief Rodolfo Matucan, Jr., TMPP Executive Vice-Chairperson for Internal Affairs Aster Zahira Antenor and TMPP Vice-Chairnan and Operations Director Edrian Katug.

Also present during the ceremonial signing were BYC Commissioner representing Maguindanao with Cotabato City and Special Geographic Areas Nasserudin Dunding, BYC Commissioner representing Tawi-tawi Pratima Samsaraji, BYC Commissioner representing Sulu Mohammad Faizal Alih.

TMPP is a Cotabato-based non-government organization that is engaged in youth-related programs and community activities that promote the culture of peace spearheaded by youth in the Bangsamoro region. (BYC PR Unit)
