BYC joins TLYSA’s 10th Congress in Upi, Maguindanao

The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) joined the 10th Congress of Teduray Lambangian Youth and Students Association (TLYSA) on Wednesday, May 25 at Barangay Nuro, in Upi, Maguindanao.

Themed “Manganguda, ang Karapatan mo ay Alamin at Isulong para sa Sariling Pagpapasya tungo sa Pagkakaisa, Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran sa Loob ng Lupaing Ninuno,” the Congress was attended by youth leaders from Indigenous People (IP) communities of different towns in Maguindanao.

During the activity, BYC Commissioner representing Maguindanao, Cotabato City and Special Geographic Areas, Nasserudin Dunding discussed the youth situation in the Bangsamoro region and presented the mandates and programs of BYC and the Bangsamoro Government for the youth.

Commissioner Dunding stressed the means of strengthening inclusive and meaningful participation of youth as well as their responsibilities as catalysts in advancing and preserving their IP identity.

TLYSA is a BYC-accredited youth organization of IP youth that works on traditional and cultural-centered programs and engagements. It was founded at Upi Agricultural School in North Upi, Maguindanao by Amando Tiruray on August 14, 1980. (BYC PR Unit)
