COTABATO CITY—A representative of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) has presented the commission’s mandates and programs to the members of a youth organization’s Training on Organizational Strategy, Structure, and Policy on Friday, June 3, in Cotabato City.
BYC MagCotSGA Chief of Staff Sohaila Macadato discussed the commission’s mandate, programs, and youth opportunities where she highlighted the office’s imperative agenda, and lines of participation for youth engagement.
“We must involve and find ourselves in the process lalo na sa usaping transition period ng ating gobyerno. Our actions today will determine our tomorrow. Let us not wait for the preceding generation if we could make it today. Let us maximize our participation,” Macadato emphasized.
Members of the Bangsamoro Active Scholars Alliance (BASA) were convened to identify pressing issues faced by the youth, and craft services to address the said concerns specifically on Education, Health, Environment, and Religious freedom.
Furthermore, it intends to capacitate the members and heads in designing the organization’s vision, mission, and goals. They crafted a suitable policy and structure to enable the organization’s smooth operation.
Moreover, Sittie Yanah Sanday, NDU Actidamean editor-in-chief, delivered her lecture on volunteerism and leadership, which she introduced different leadership approaches.
“Leadership is being part of the change without expecting something in return. An empowered leader should put the problem into perspective, and come up with feasible and sustainable solutions in addressing those concerns,” she said.
“It is the responsibility of a leader to determine the strengths and weaknesses of his members and provide them rooms for improvement,” she added.
Aira Hazna Ampatuan, during her remarks, commended the efforts of the organization in promulgating the advocacies and opportunities for the Bangsamoro Youth.
BASA is a youth-led organization organized by scholars of the regional government that gives importance to right to access Education, Universal Health Care, Environmental Sustainabilty, and Religious Freedom. (BYC PR Unit)
