BYLP-LeadCom fellow from Basilan establishes mini medical boutique

COTABATO CITY — A fellow of the Bangsamoro Youth Leaders Program – Leadership Communities 2 (BYLP-LeadCom 2) from Sumisip town in Basilan established a mini medical boutique to provide affordable and easy-to-access medical supplies to their community.

Adzrie Jalil and his team’s undertaking named “Project 3K – Kabataan Kalusugan Kasanyangan” was granted a ₱50,000 seed fund by BYLP-LeadCom 2 program in November 2021.

Jalil said the project aims to put up a drug store intended to ease their communities’ difficulties in accessing medical supplies.

He mentioned the people had to travel far by land and sea in order to buy medicines.

The Project 3K boutique now stands at Barangay Lukketun in Sumisip town, enabling the locals to easily access affordable medical supplies.

In addition to the boutique, Project 3K also held health awareness campaigns, provided school supplies to children and conducted a clean drive and health center renovation in the town.

In March 2022, the BYLP-LeadCom fellows paid a special courtesy visit to several ministries and offices of the Bangsamoro Government to showcase their projects in which the latter can provide support.

The BYLP-LeadCom is a dynamic year-long fellowship program of Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AYI), in partnership with Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC), Eisenhower Fellowships and Australian Aid.

The project aims to empower young leaders from the Bangsamoro Region with an on-site immersion for them to undertake relevant programs that transform communities in the areas of health, education, livelihood, and peace development. (BYC PR Unit)
