BYC holds ‘Kamustahan’ session with youth orgs in Paglat

COTABATO CITY (September 27, 2022)—The Bangsamoro Youth Commission conducted a Kamustahan session with accredited youth organizations of Paglat Municipality on Monday, September 26.

The activity aims to strengthen youth engagement and participation to various initiatives of the Commission, and provide an avenue for the youth to to present their organization’s accomplishments, initiatives, and challenges, and discuss ways forward with BYC for further engagements.

BYC Commissioner Nasserudin D. Dunding said the activity is a safe space for the accredited youth organizations (AYOs) to speak of their narratives and learning experiences.

“Nais nating malaman mula sa inyo kung anong suporta ang inyong kinakailangan mula sa ating opisina,” he said

” This dialogue helps us to consolidate the interest of our youth . And as we identify those concerns, let us ensure that we also have solutions to offer,” he added.

Paglat Municipal Mayor Bai Raisa Pendatun Langkuno, JD, RCrim expressed her full support to youth programs and activities offered by the Commission.

” As your mayor who belongs to the youth sector, our LGU can provide further support to our youth…As early as now we have to invest with our youth by exposing them to various capacity development trainings because in the future they will be our leaders,” she said.

BYC Project Development Officer Aira Hazna Ampatuan provided BYC’s overview of its mandates and functions highlighting its programs and services offered.

Meanwhile, BYC Chief of Staff Sohaila Macadato facilitated the workshop proper where participants tasked to identify and present issues and concerns they encounter.

Outputs gathered from the series of session will be utilized in BYC’s Policy Development Manual, a guiding document of the Commission in fortifying its policy development process within the office and across its wide array of stakeholders from local, regional, and national level.

The Kamustahan Session will also be held in identified areas of Special Geographical Areas of North Cotabato, and Lanao del Sur including Marawi City. (BYC PR Unit/AAA)
