After a thorough deliberation on Friday, Nov. 18, the Committee on Finance, Budget, and Management (CFBM) of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) approved the ₱87.2 million proposed budget of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) for 2023, with 11.48% increase from 2022’s budget.
BYC Chairperson Marjanie Mimbantas Macasalong said the BYC’s main programs for 2023 include stakeholders and partnership building, youth responsive policy and program development, public engagement programs, and monitoring and evaluation.
The Committee deliberation, which was held at SKCC Plenary Session Hall, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City, was chaired by MP Eduard Guerra and attended by several Committee members.
On October 24, BYC officials successfully defended the Commission’s 2023 proposed budget during a sub-committee hearing.
BYC is the lead agency of the BARMM government in policy-making and coordinating functions for programs and projects relevant to the youth. (BYC PR Unit/KAA)
