COTABATO CITY (March 10, 2023) — Several employees of Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) joined the kick-off ceremony of the National Women’s Month on Wednesday, March 08, at Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Center, Cotabato City.
Spearheaded by Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC), the celebration bears the theme “We for Gender Equity and Inclusive Society,” which aims to promote a society that ensures inclusion, protection of fundamental freedoms, diversity, and social justice and in which every individual, each with rights and responsibilities, is capacitated and encouraged to take an active role to play.
BWC Chairperson Bainon G. Karon, during her speech, reiterated the importance in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
“Education, gender equity and inclusive society form a powerful force for positive change. With driven individuals and communities, they are free to feel empowered and inspired to contribute meaningfully to the society,” she said.
Highlight of the celebration was the Spoken Poetry performed by each young individual where most of them have emphasized the powerful voices and great contributions of women to the society.
