COTABATO CITY (April 25, 2023) – Bong Lumabao shares how his hopes and previous struggles helped in establishing ILMO Inc. as one of the recognized private institutions that empowers Bangsamoro through different services, during Bangsamoro YoutHours’ 48th episode on Thursday, April 20.
Lumabao, who founded ILMO Inc. on June 25, 2021, said that the success of the institution was deeply rooted out of economic crisis that he had experienced during his adolescent years.
He emphasized that he came from an unstable and financially-challenged family where he experienced events that are unfamiliar to many.
“Our home was made of karton (cardboards). We didn’t have anything, and the only thing that we rely upon for survival is kangkong,” he said.
“We were so desperate during those times. My mother had several miscarriages and I was the only child who survived the tragedy, while my father lost his job and was really sick… we couldn’t even buy a single medicine out of impoverishment,” he added.
The said experiences made Lumabao to think of possible solution in order to break-free from the situation. He said that his father told him to attend school for him to get away from the cycle of poverty.
“I had no idea of what education was all about, but what I knew was education is the ultimate answer against this situation,” he stressed.
Lumabao also said that he promised himself that once he finishes schooling, he would make a way to empower his fellow youth through sharing his gained knowledge and skills so that they will be able to cope with their own challenges.
“The creation of ILMO Inc. served as a platform to capacitate our fellow youth and the Bangsamoro people in general. This institution provides different skills training among other services,” he stated.
Today, ILMO Inc. offers different services such corporate events mangement which include weddings, conferences, summit; Skills training that include technical writing, public speaking, media and digital literacy; Psychosocial intervention, team building, and also business and research consultancy, project Implementation, among others.
Recently, the institution spearheaded the conduct of month-long Ramadhan Festival which happened at 8z building near beside Masjid Maimona in Cotabato City.
Lumabao concluded his talk by emphasizing the importance of putting love and attention with one’s family specifically being dutiful and obedient with one’s parent as it serves as the main source of life successes. (BYC PR Unit/AAA)
