COTABATO CITY (June 22, 2023) — Employees of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) underwent a three-day workshop to formulate its institutional Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) Policy on June 20-22, in Cotabato City.
BYC Chairperson Marjanie Mimbantas Macasalong said developing SPMS policy holds immense importance to the Commission, as it forms part of institutional building initiatives.
“By developing a tailored SPMS policy, BYC aims to optimize its operations, promote accountability, and further strengthen its commitment to serving the youth in the Bangsamoro region,” Chairperson Macasalong said.
He added that SPMS holds immense importance BYC, as it serves as a mechanism to link employee performance with the Commission’s performance.
The SPMS is a performance management framework implemented by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) of the Philippines. It aims to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of government agencies and their personnel. The system is designed to align individual and organizational performance with the government’s overall goals and objectives.
Through the adoption of the SPMS, BYC seeks to align individual and organizational performance with the overarching goals and objectives set by the national and Bangsamoro government.
Under SPMS Policy, a Performance Management Team (PMT) will be instituted responsible for overseeing and implementing the performance management processes within the Commission. The PMT plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of the SPMS and the achievement of performance targets. (BYC PR Unit/RMM)
