BYC Chair Marjanie Mimbantas Macasalong said that the inclusion of sports in the Commission’s partner institutions is crucial in the overall development of the youth.

The creation is enshrined under section 19 of Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 10 that established the BYC. It serves as the venue for coordination between the Commission and other instrumentalities of BARMM Government in the implementation of programs related to youth.

It also establishes a monitoring mechanism to ensure compliance with youth-related policies by the ministries and other instrumentalities of the Bangsamoro Government. The council conducts discussions to formulate and issue youth-related policies, standards, rules, and guidelines.

Moreover, it provides valuable advice, guidance, and assistance to the Commission on significant matters concerning youth affairs, welfare, and development. (BYC PR Unit/AAA)
