COTABATO CITY (August 14) – The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) – Lanao del Sur with Marawi City marked the celebration of International Youth Day (IYD) 2023 with a Pre-State of the Bangsamoro Youth Address (SOBYA) on August 10, in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
BYC Chairperson and Commissioner representing Lanao Marjanie Mimbatas Macasalong delivered his Pre-SOBYA, highlighting the provincial office’s accomplishments and outlining its future plans for youth.
“Throughout the years, the BYC Lanao del Sur with Marawi City has remained committed to its goal of promoting the participation of the Meranao youth in nation-building.” Macasalong said.
Ongoing initiatives centered on various youth empowerment and opportunities were also presented by Macasalong.
On the same day, BYC-Lanao also conducted a tree planting activity in collaboration with Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE-BARMM), Bangsamoro Sports Commission, the 103rd Battalion and the 500th Combat Engineer Battalion (CEB).
This year’s IYD celebration bears the theme, “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.”
The SOBYA will be delivered by BYC Chairperson Macasalong on August 12 in Cotabato City. (BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
