BYC holds pop-up event for certification of youth orgs

Cotabato City (June 21, 2024) — In pursuit of promoting active participation of youth in politics and governance, the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) conducted a pop-up event for the certification of youth organizations for the youth sectoral representative election in BARMM on Thursday, June 20, in Cotabato City.

During the event, BYC employees provided prompt assistance to youth organizations, guiding them through the submission process. This certification is an essential requirement for youth organizations aiming to participate in the upcoming election, ensuring they meet the necessary qualifications.

This initiative underscores the Commission’s commitment to foster public participation by engaging and supporting youth from various parts of BARMM in governance processes.

As a result of the certification drive, a total of 25 youth organizations have been issued notices of completeness, indicating that they have completed all the necessary requirements for certification.

Meanwhile, youth organizations in Lanao del Sur with Marawi City, Basilan with Lamitan City, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, can submit their documents to the BYC office located in their respective areas.

This decentralization aims to facilitate easier access for youth organizations outside Cotabato City, ensuring inclusivity and broader participation across the BARMM region. (BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
