BYC to build youth training center

COTABATO CITY (Oct. 24, 2024) – The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) is set to build a youth training center in Cotabato City to provide an avenue for tailored development opportunities for the Bangsamoro youth.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Thursday, October 24, to officially commence the construction of the Regional Youth Development Training Center (RYDTC) in Cotabato City where the regional seat of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is located.

BYC Chairperson Marjanie Mimbantas Macasalong led the ceremony and emphasized the vital role this project will play in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services to the youth.

“Kami dito sa BYC, naisip po namin talaga na magpatayo ng sarili nating training youth center para maging consistent ang ating pag-deliver ng services para sa mga Kabataang Bangsamoro,” Macasalong stated.

Macasalong added that the center aims to foster unity among Bangsamoro youth from diverse backgrounds, offering a space where they can collaborate, grow, and become key contributors to societal progress.

The said youth center is a project of BYC under the Bangsamoro Government’s Special Development Fund (SDF), amounting to P18.423 million. It will serve as a dedicated hub for youth development.

Also in attendance were BYC MagCotSGA Commissioner Nasserudin Dunding and SDF-PMO Planning Officer Ms. Noraisa L. Aratuc, both highlighting the crucial need for this youth center to provide a dedicated space for nurturing the development and potential of the Bangsamoro youth.

Further attendees included several employees of the Commission. (BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
