BYC employees embark on learning circuit

COTABATO CITY (Nov. 18, 2024) – Several employees of Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) embarked on a learning circuit with renowned institutions to enhance their knowledge and skills on policy-making, policy research, and administrative and finance functions.

The learning circuit aimed to enhance the BYC employees’ skills in policy research, policy-making, public policy dissemination capabilities, and improve its administrative operation and financial management capacities. It was held on Nov. 10-15, in several cities in Metro Manila.

Employees of BYC’s Administrative and Finance Division (AFD) gained insights and learnings from National Archives of the Philippines, Department of Budget and Management, and National Youth Commission about their standard policies and functions, particularly in administrative operations and financial management practices.

“Our goal is to align our Commission with best practices and established standards, particularly in matters affecting the youth as we aim to develop a more effective and transparent Administrative and Finance Division to enhance service delivery for the youth in the Bangsamoro region,” AFD Chief Nairah Manongcarang said.

Meanwhile, employees of Technical Services Division (TSD) visited Greenpeace Philippines, Quezon City Bangsamoro Affairs Service, and Ateneo School of Governance to learn the institutions’ best practices in policy research, formulation, and dissemination.

“This will help BYC better position itself as the leading youth policy institution in the region, influencing government actions and ensuring youth development is prioritized in BARMM’s governance agenda,” TSD OIC Chief Settie Ivy Ampatuan said.

BYC recognizes the importance of having a well-equipped and skilled workforce and committed to focus on strengthening the competencies of its personnel, enhancing their knowledge and skills, and providing them with the necessary tools to effectively deliver the mandates of the Commission.
