BYC participates in Sindaw Kalumbayan

The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC)-Lanao del Sur with Marawi City along with various offices and organizations participated in Sindaw Kalumbayan: A Youth Peace Assembly on Ensuring Participation of Youth in Coming Election 2022 on October 23 in Bagumbayan Social Hall, Marawi City.

Organized by the Young Women Leaders for Peace Philippines and funded by GNWP, the program aims to provide awareness on the status quo of the Bangsamoro, its challenges and opportunities, and how the youth could take part towards a peaceful transition by instilling knowledge on the electoral process.

Furthermore, the program encourages youth in establishing community resiliency through sustainable involvement in social transformation movements both offline and online.

The event gathered 100 youth leaders from different organizations across Marawi City and Lanao del Sur.

The commission was represented by Namera Ambor, youth development officer. Ambor also discussed the responsibilities highlighting the mandate as the primary policy making and coordinating body in all matters affecting the youth.

Ambor emphasized that BARMM’s commitment in providing various mechanisms and programs for the youth is evident as BYC was created to address their needs. (BYC PR Section)
