22 youth leaders participate in YPS consultation, peacebuilding policy-making workshop

COTABATO CITY — Twenty two youth leaders from several youth organizations accredited by the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) are participating in the seven-day Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) consultation and Peacebuilding Policy-making Workshop in Paraiso Verde, Koronadal City.

The workshop started Tuesday, November 2 and will end Monday, November 8.

The program aims to provide a venue for the Bangsamoro youth to freely interact and work together for better understanding of the context of peace and conflict, and the opportunities to discuss potential policy agenda or recommendations for peace promotiton in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The workshop was organized by the BYC and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) through the STEP BARMM Project.

Participants were oriented with basic concepts of Conflict Sensitivity and Peace Promotion, UNSCR 2250, Bangsamoro Transition Priority Agenda (BYTPA) 2020-2022, BARMM Regional Action Plan on YPS, and the significant role of Bangsamoro youth in conflict analysis, and peacebuilding, among others.
