MAGUINDANAO — Numerous participants in the town of Paglat, Maguindanao attended the Istiqbal Ramadhan Symposium conducted by the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) in collaboration with Paglat Local Youth Development Council and several youth organizations on Saturday, April 2.
The activity pursuits to impart knowledge regarding the rulings and benefits of fasting, and the significance of reading the Holy Qur’an as prescribed during the month of Ramadhan.
Jazzer Rainiel Malingco, LYDO Paglat, provided the overview of the program and encouraged participants to listen attentively to the lecturers.
Sheikh Ahmad B. Maminto, in his discussion —the Nullifiers of Fasting— shed light on different factors that may invalidate one’s fast, which include intentional eating and drinking, and making love with one’s spouse, among others.
Sheikh Mohamad Siddiq U. Saeed discussed the virtues of fasting emphasizing the importance of reading the Qur’an as it was revealed during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Meanwhile, BYC Commissioner Nasserudin Dunding, during his message, highlighted individual differences as a tool to develop one’s community.
“The Almighty created us differently. Each of us has been given with certain knowledge and expertise on a certain field of specialization. What matters the most is that these differences should be shared for the betterment of our community, especially sharing of Islamic knowledge,” Commissioner Dunding said.
The said program also had a contest where participants were given with prizes for every question they could answer.
The series of Ramadhan initiatives will also be conducted by BYC along with partner organizations to some identified areas of the region. (BYC PR Unit)
