COTABATO CITY (Dec. 4, 2022) –The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) through the Office of BYC MagCotSGA Commissioner Nasserudin Dunding graced the culmination of the 30th National Children’s Day, on Tuesday, November 29, in Matanog Municipality.
Bearing the theme “Kalusugan, Kaisipan, at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata ating Tutukan” “Bangon Batang Bangsamoro”, the celebration aims to instill awareness and sustain the promotion and protection of children’s right as embodied in the International Conventions as well as in Philippine laws.
Higlight of the activity was the State of Children’s report where Matanog Municipal Mayor Zohria S. Bansil- Guro presented significant accomplishment of the Local Government Unit regarding youth and child-centered programs and activities.
Mayor Guro, during her speech, expressed the LGU’s commitment to craft more programs and initiatives that can promote further child rights and protection.
” Our commitment and dedication to uplift the lives of our children in Matanog, our passion to exhibit our power vested upon us, our dream to bring our children to the real world of challenges, but full of competitive spirits will be our ways to reach the true essence of governance,” she said.
Meanwhile, BYC Commissioner Nasserudin Dunding, said the Bangsamoro Government through the Commission gives great importance to the youth by providing avenues for their holistic development.
“The youth in the Bangsamoro recognizes the protection of the welfare of our children, as a government institution’s responsibility in ensuring that they grow in safe environments, have access to education and opportunities, develop and survive in the best way possible,” Dunding said.
“It is also our collective effort in assuring that children are protected from violence, abuse and being neglected by anyone who looks after them,” he added.
National Children’s Month is celebrated every month of November by virtue of Proclamation No. 267 to recognize the vital role of the youth in the nation building, and promote and protect their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being. (BYC PR Unit/AAA)
