BYCC adopts 4 resos during its 4th session

COTABATO CITY (July 19, 2023) — The Bangsamoro Youth Coordinating Council (BYCC) adopted four resolutions during its 4th meeting on Tuesday, July 18, in Cotabato City.

The adopted resolutions encompass various areas of concern pertaining to the welfare and development of the Bangsamoro youth in the region that include appointment of local youth development officers, promotion of sports development program, promotion of tree planting and environmental awareness programs, and support for mental health bills.

BYC Chairperson Marjanie S. Macasalong, who presided over the council meeting, expressed the importance of adopting these resolutions in advancing the welfare of the Bangsamoro Youth in the region.

Representatives from 14 member agencies attended the council meeting.

“It is within these vibrant discussions that innovative ideas are conceived, and strategies are developed to address the multifaceted challenges faced by our youth,” Macasalong said.

During the meeting, Youth Development Officer Settie Ivy C. Ampatuan also presented the Bangsamoro Action Plan on Youth, Peace and Security (BAP YPS), and discussed Executive Order No. 12, which outlines the creation of the Bangsamoro Youth Coordinating Council.

Pursuant to Section 19 of BAA No. 10, there shall be a Youth Coordinating Council which shall be the venue for coordination between the Commission and the ministries and other instrumentalities of the Bangsamoro Government in the implementation of youth-related projects, programs, and activities.

Representatives from 14 member agencies attended the council meeting, showcasing their collective commitment and collaborative efforts in advancing the interests and well-being of the Bangsamoro youth.

The BYCC plans to convene another meeting at the end of the year, providing an opportunity for council members to provide valuable input, comments, and insights on policy recommendations concerning youth. (PR Unit/SAMN)
