BYC conducts M&E tool development workshop

COTABATO CITY (August 9, 2023) — To develop monitoring and evaluation tools that align seamlessly with the Commission’s programs and activities, the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) conducted a three-day Monitoring and Evaluation Tool Development Workshop on August 7-9 in Cotabato City.

The workshop aims to equip the technical staff under the Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit with the necessary competencies to develop essential tools to measure the effectiveness of project activities and periodically gather relevant data for the effective management of BYC programs and activities.

Project Evaluation Officer Nabila Ysmael underscored the significance of this initiative.

“By tailoring our monitoring and evaluation instruments to the unique needs and dynamics of these areas, we aim to capture a more accurate representation of our endeavors’ success and challenges,” Ysmael said.

Youth Development Officer Fatimah Mandangan said that the result of this workshop will be a major achievement for the Commission in terms of monitoring and evaluation.

On the other hand, EAI Executive Director Harris Pangcoga served as the resource person for the three-day workshop. He covered topics such as developing tailored M&E tools, using a youth-centered approach, and integrating M&E and research.

Personnel from the Research Services Unit also attended the three-day workshop.

In March this year, a workshop was held to formulate M&E logical framework, M&E framework, and M&E plan that would help “in delivering quality service and and efficient programs” to the Bangsamoro youth.

The monitoring and evaluation system is critical for BYC to achieve its set goals, make its officials and employees more accountable, make evidence-based decisions. (BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
