COTABATO CITY (Feb. 6, 2024) – The Bangsamoro Youth Commission, through the Office of the Commissioners of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, marked the ZamBaSulTa Young Religious Leaders Conference, on Feb. 3-5 at Grand Astoria Hotel in Zamboanga City.
Themed “Nurturing Unity, Inspiring Leadership: Empowering Islamic Hearts,” the conference was participated by 50 diverse attendees representing the ZamBaSulTa sub-region.
Sheikh Tawfiq L. Kiram, who served as the resource speaker, shared leadership lessons from Islam’s last Prophet Muhammad and his companions, underlining the empowerment of youth as future leaders.
Also, Sheikh Khidir F. Handi followed with insights into the pivotal role of the youth in society and modern times.
Beyond being a knowledge exchange platform, the conference served as an opportunity to draft policy recommendations for young religious leaders, aiming to foster unity and inspire leadership among the ZamBaSulTa youth.
Mayor Jaydeefar Ladjid of Al-Barka town in Basilan, and representation from the Office of MP Dan Asnawie were also present in the event. (BYC PR Unit/AAA)
