BYC- Maguindanao graces three succeeding activities

Various activities organized by at least 11 accredited youth organizations of the Commission were conducted from different areas of Maguindanao through the support of their development partners.

Primarily the Maguindanao Peace Festival 2021 which led by the PUKAW, Inc. with the support of European Union and the United Nations and Development Programme in close partnership with 1st Mechanized Infantry (MAAASAHAN) Brigade with the theme “Maguindanaon Music: Rhyming Peace and Positive Change” held at Carlito’s Hotel and Restaurant, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

The said event bannered as Peace Development and Communications Program which aimed to address misinformation and hate speech, and promote tolerance and respect for diversity.

On the other, Maguindanao SPMS- box areas-based accredited youth organizations initiated the Maguindanao Young Leaders’ Peace Camp with its theme: “Kabataan pag-asa ng kapayapaan; lakas ng pamayanan” which conducted in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato through its supporting agency Islamic Relief Worldwide.

The camp centered on the creation of an agenda focusing on the young people inside SPMS box considering their vulnerability in the recurring armed-conflict in the area. Meanwhile, the recently conducted activity was the Youth Leadership Summit held at Layag Beach, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Maguindanao from May 31 to June 2, 2021.

The activity graced by the BYC Chair MP Marjanie Macasalong, Commissioner Nass Dunding along DBS Mayor Datu Marshall Sinsuat, DBS Vice Mayor Bai Raida Tomawis Sinsuat and MBLT-2 Commanding Officer LTCOL Alimudin Pola.

Of these activities, the Chairperson together Commissioner Nass Dunding delivered their messages stressing the importance of youth participation and engagement to various activities and provided specific lectures on the roles of the youth in the transition period. Moreover, dialogue on their concerns and recommendations were also mainstreamed.
