COTABATO CITY (July 18, 2022)— A youth organization in Sulu centers its advocacies in promoting Islam, uniting fellow youth leaders by practicing Islamic traditions and ideologies in their communities.
Nur-Fhaina Ungkay of the Khairush-Shabab Al-Mohtadien Youth Organization shared an insight of the programs and activities conducted by their organization during the Bangsamoro YoutHours’ 28th episode, Thursday, July 14.
KSAM is an Islamic youth organization founded by few concerned Muslim youth of Sulu in 2016. It strives to promote unification among Muslim youth in the community through religious activities and community engagements.
The organization envisions to be a direct promoter of different religious activities aligned with the Islamic teachings and practices under the Shafi’iyyah and Ash-arieyyah teachings.
Some of its initiatives include Women Symposium, Grand iftaar, Maulud Symposium and Salawatan Competition, Community engagements, among others.
Ungkay, said in order for the youth to be an instrument of peace, “one should nurture himself to become globally competent by equipping himself with necessary skills such as communication skills, learning new courses personality development, and the likes. And that joining youth organization is one of the gateways that open such opportunities.”
She also reminded her fellow youth to purify and always refine their intentions upon joining youth organization as it enables them to work with sincerity, and avoid the involvement of personal biases.
Bangsamoro Youth Hours streams every Thursday, 4 PM to 5 PM at the Facebook pages of Bangsamoro Youth Commission and Bangsamoro Media Productions and airs at DXAE FM 99.7 MHz radio station in Cotabato City. (BYC PR Unit)
