BYC, EAI launches Peace Promotion Fellowship

COTABATO CITY (December 4, 2022) –The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) in partnership with the Equal Access International (EAI) Philippines launched Peace Promotion Fellowship on Thursday, December 1, at Alnor Convention Center, Cotabato City.

The Peace Promotion Fellowship is a premiere youth development program for young community leaders who are passionate and committed to peacebuilding, transforming extremism, and positive social change.

With the theme “Harnessing Our Peace Efforts: Towards Solidarity in Service”, the program supports outstanding candidates aiming to co-create innovative and sustainable peace solutions to address challenges faced by their communities.

In the activity, eighteen young leaders from BARMM and Region 12 presented their peace project ideas.

Among the projects presented include DigiTALINO, Serbisyong Kapyanan, Peace Pulse, Kapit-PEACEg, Peace ToReal, ReWriting Peace and Students Teachers Empowered for Peace (STEP-UP), among others.

EAI-PH Country Director Ahmed Harris Pangcoga encouraged stakeholders to join youth leaders with their campaign in promoting peace and development initiatives in Mindanao.

BYC Commissioner Nasserudin D. Dunding, in his message, said the Commission is committed to provide full support to capacitate and empower the Bangsamoro youth through various programs and initiatives.

Also present in the program were MPOS Intelligence Officer Ms. Jobayra P. Tandalong, MSU Maguindanao Chancellor Dr. Bai Hejira Nefertiti S. Macalandong-Limbona, UNICEF Chief Mindanao Field Officer Radoslaw Rzehak, and United Nations Area Coordinator Stean Auguste Tshiband. (BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
