MBHTE holds first Bangsamoro Quiz Bowl Competition

COTABATO CITY (January 25, 2022) –The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) held the first Bangsamoro Quiz Bowl Competition on January 24, at Cotabato City People’s Palace.

The quiz bowl, which was participated in by several students from different schools in Cotabato City, covered topics on Bangsamoro history, governance, arts and clothing, delicacies, and tourist spots, among others.

MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal in his remarks, emphasized the importance of education as it provides greater means in pursuing life opportunities.

“Magsumikap kayo sa pag-aaral dahil minsan lang ito sa ating buhay. Alalahanin ninyo na mas umaangat ang buhay ng tao kapag edukado,” Iqbal said.

“In this competition, whether you won or lose the game, you always have to bear in mind that failure plays an important role in our lives. It’s always part of one’s success,” he added.

Champions of the competition were given cash prizes worth Php 50,000, Php 40,000 for the first runners-up, Php 30,000 for the second runners-up, and Php 20,000 for the fourth runners-up.

The following are list of winners:

Champion: Shannarayne Camino Ampatuan, Aieesha Ameena Shanique M. Sajili, Durriyah M. Abdulnasser, and Khristine Grace L. Mucosa all from Cotabato City National High School – Main Campus representing the Cotabato City Schools Division Office (SDO).

First runners-up: Abol Caiz A. Pagrangan, Juhanah A. Casim, Noralia A. Tahir, and Ebtizam U. Macadatar of Lanao del Sur II Division.

Second runners-up: Yasrinah U. H. Aiman, Nabila S. Maamor, Johanisah H. C. Maruhom, and Rahmanyza P. Sultan of Marawi City Division

Third runners-up: Safeeya A. Mala, Denrajeev H. Jondam, Alyasin Amer Hadjiisah, and Sasiuno A. Maang of Sulu Division.

The said competition is among the ministry’s activities as part of 4th BARMM Founding Anniversary celebration.

This year’s celebration bears the theme “Sama-samang pagtataguyod saisang mas mapayapa at mas masaganang Bangsamoro” to celebrate the gains and accomplishments of the Government of the Day in the past four years since BARMM’s establishment in 2019. (BYC PR Unit/AAA)
