COTABATO CITY (April 4, 2023) — The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) Lanao del Sur with Marawi City participated in the community education and information campaign program led by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) held on March 28, 2023, in Marawi City.
The said program aims to raise public awareness on the programs and services of the CFO, various issues concerning migration, intermarriage, and existing government policies and programs directed against illegal recruitment, documentation fraud, human trafficking, among others.
As the Bangsamoro Government seeks to ensure that no Bangsamoro youth is left behind, BYC Chairperson Marjanie Mimbantas Macasalong underscored the importance of empowering the youth, particularly the children and youth affected by migration, to become effective agents of change.
CFO also strives to capacitate the local government units and assist prospective migrants in making informed decisions regarding settlement abroad, as well as to generate community involvement in migration concerns.
The program was conducted as part of CFO’s yearly community education program on migration.
The activity was attended by several youth leaders and some staff from BYC Lanao. (BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
