BYC-Sulu joins 2nd Sulu Youth Summit

In observance of this year’s Linggo ng Kabataan, the Bangsamoro Youth Commission, through the Office of Commissioner Mohammad Faizal Alih, joined the 2nd Sulu Youth Summit conducted by the Provincial Government of Sulu on August 24-25, in Patikul, Sulu.

Carrying the theme, “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World,” the youth participants underwent learning sessions that tackled topics on urban gardening and climate change action. The summit also featured a talk show dubbed “Usapang Kalikasan.”

In his message, Commissioner Alih expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government of Sulu for organizing an impactful event that empowers the youth with knowledge and skills essential for building a sustainable future.

He also highlighted the importance of green skills for youth and how it aligns with the broader goals of environmental conservation and youth engagement in the Bangsamoro region.

“Take the lessons from this summit back to your communities, becoming strong advocates for sustainable living and environmental stewardship,” Commissioner Alih added.

Linggo ng Kabataan is celebrated annually in accordance with Republic Act No. 10742, also known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015. According to this law, each barangay, municipality, city, and province is mandated to conduct an annual activity in commemoration of the Linggo ng Kabataan. (BYC PR Unit/KAA)
