BYC attends RAP-WPS launching

COTABATO CITY (Oct. 5, 2023) — Employees of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) attended the launching of the Bangsamoro Regional Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (RAP-WPS) 2023-2028, today, October 5, at Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, Cotabato City.

The launching aims to address the diverse needs of women and formulate a more comprehensive and gender-sensitive plan to promote peace and gender equity throughout the region.

Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC) Chairperson Bainon G. Karon said that the plan represents a significant step in advancing the women, peace and security agenda in the Bangsamoro communities.

BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim also graced the program. He emphasized the active participation of Bangsamoro women in the transition period.

“This reflects our dedication to building a region where every individual, regardless of gender, can thrive and contribute to the development of an empowered, cohesive, and progressive Bangsamoro,” Ebrahim stated.

Also present during the event were several BARMM ministries and offices, local government units, development partners, representatives from the national government and women sectors.

The program was spearheaded by the Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC). (PR Unit/SAMN).
