BYC employees undergo training on data collection methods, techniques

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (September 27, 2023) – Several employees of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) underwent a three-day training on Data Collection Methods and Techniques in Data Consolidation, Processing, and Analysis on September 25-27, 2023, in General Santos City.

The training is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the technical staff within the Project Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation Unit and Research Services Unit in effective data collection methods, data consolidation, processing and data analysis for research, monitoring and evaluation.

It also aimed to identify entry points for integrating data collection methods and data consolidation, processing and analysis techniques learned in the operations of both units.

Project Evaluation Officer Nabila C. Ysmael underscored the pivotal importance of this initiative in shaping the Commission’s future efforts within the domain of research and monitoring & evaluation.

“In a world where data is the currency of informed decisions, it is imperative that we, as custodians of youth-related matters, are proficient in data collection, consolidation, processing, and analysis,” Ysmael stated.

During the training, Harris Pangcoga, who served as the training’s resource person and an expert in research, monitoring, and evaluation, delivered extensive presentations and discussions on these topics, motivating the participants to produce valuable outcomes.

Meanwhile, the said training serves as a follow-up to previous workshops held earlier this year, continuing the Commission’s monitoring of its youth-centered programs. (PR Unit/SAMN)
