BYC undergoes 5S in the Workplace Orientation

COTABATO CITY (November 6, 2023) – The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) partnered with the Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB) to conduct an orientation on 5S in the Workplace on October 25 in Cotabato City.

Aiming to standardize workspaces and provide a comprehensive overview of the systematic method for creating and maintaining an organized, clean, and high-performing workplace, 5S in the Workplace orientation proved to be a pivotal step for BYC in enhancing its organizational efficiency and fostering a culture of excellence.

BYC Chief of Admin and Finance Nairah Manongcarang, highlighted the significance of the 5S methodology in creating and maintaining an efficient workspace. She emphasized its role in enhancing productivity, ensuring safety, and boosting overall morale.

“The 5S methodology, through its systematic approach, aims to create ergonomically arranged, efficient, and quality-driven workspaces capable of repeatable output while reducing waste,” said Manongcarang.

During the event, BYC staff were introduced to the foundational principles of the 5S methodology and its practical application. Through interactive sessions and hands-on exercises, they gained valuable insights on seamlessly integrating each ‘S’ into their daily operations.

The discussions shed light on the substantial impact of an organized workspace on productivity and morale.

Beyond its role as an introduction to 5S, the orientation served as an avenue to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Commission. (BYC PR Unit/AAA)
