BYCC adopts 4 resos during its 5th session

COTABATO CITY (December 14, 2023) – The Bangsamoro Youth Coordinating Council (BYCC) made significant strides during its 5th regular session today, December 13, 2023, in Cotabato City, adopting four resolutions aimed at promoting and advancing the welfare of the youth in the region.

BYC Chairperson Marjanie S. Macasalong, presiding over the council meeting, underscored the Commission’s unwavering dedication to providing steadfast support, guidance, and assistance in all matters related to youth affairs.

“In line with our commitment to the well-being of the Bangsamoro youth, the Commission stands unwavering in its commitment to advocate for the rights and welfare of the Bangsamoro youth and to empower them as individuals driven by their dreams and aspirations through carefully crafted policies,” Macasalong stated.

The adopted resolutions are the following:

  1. A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE BANGSAMORO ACTION PLAN ON YOUTH, PEACE, AND SECURITY FOR 2023-2028
  2. A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE BANGSAMORO YOUTH COMMISSION STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2026 AND TAKING IMMEDIATE ACTION THEREFOR
  3. A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE BANGSAMORO YOUTH COMMISSION- TRACKING AND MONITORING SYSTEM (TMS)
  4. A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BANGSAMORO YOUTH COORDINATING COUNCIL MEMBER MINISTRIES, OFFICES, AND AGENCIES TO ALIGN THEIR PROGRAMS FOR THE YOUTH WITH THE BANGSAMORO YOUTH TRANSITION PRIORITY AGENDA 2023-2025

Furthermore, BYC Public Relations Officer Rahib Musa presented the key features of BYC’s Strategic Communications Planning during the meeting. The BYCC is identified as one of the strategic audiences in this plan, showcasing the council’s importance in communication efforts.

On the same day, BYC Planning Officer Datu Raid Salik provided an overview of the Bangsamoro Action Plan on Youth, Peace, and Security (BAP-YPS), which serves as a comprehensive framework for addressing the multifaceted needs of the Bangsamoro youth in relation to peace and security.

Representatives from 10 member agencies attended the council meeting, demonstrating their collective commitment and collaborative initiatives in promoting the interests and well-being of the Bangsamoro youth.

Pursuant to Section 19 of BAA No. 10, there shall be a Youth Coordinating Council which shall be the venue for coordination between the Commission and the ministries and other instrumentalities of the Bangsamoro Government in the implementation of youth-related projects, programs, and activities.
