BYC conducts its Year-End Assessment for 2023

COTABATO CITY (January 12, 2024) — To assess the performance and achievements of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) in 2023, the Commission conducted its two-day Year-End Assessment on January 10-11, 2024, in Cotabato City.

BYC’s 2023 Year-End Assessment primarily involved a comprehensive review, culminating in meticulous project reports that captured the nuances of progress, outcomes, and challenges within the various projects, programs, and activities (PPAs) of the Commission.

BYC Youth Development Officer Fatimah L. Mandangan emphasized the importance of maintaining a consistent level of efficiency and effectiveness in reaching goals.

“Feedback is crucial for the success of an initiative. It is with feedback that we can modify tomorrow’s plans and decisions, enabling us to formulate initiatives that are responsive and deliver them effectively and efficiently,” Mandangan stated.

Key discussions during the assessment included presentations on the physical accomplishment report for the fiscal year 2023 by the Technical Services Division (TSD) and the Administrative and Finance Division (AFD).

The TSD also highlighted challenges encountered during the implementation of PPAs, including issues and concerns. They also discussed the actions taken to develop possible solutions, ensuring that these issues do not recur in the next year’s assessment.

Meanwhile, AFD presented a summary of activities related to financial management, budget execution, and administrative initiatives carried out through the year.

A notable aspect of the event was the engagement of BYC employees in enjoyable yet challenging activities that tested both their mental and physical abilities.

BYC Tawi-Tawi Commissioner Pratima Sabal Samsaraji underscored that one way to improve the welfare of Bangsamoro youth is built through the experiences and lessons laid by the BYC through its different proposed projects and engagements. (BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
