BYC joins World Hijab Day

COTABATO CITY (February 2, 2024) — Employees of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) joined the celebration of World Hijab Day on Feb. 1, 2024, at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, Cotabato City.

In her message, BYC Youth Development Officer Fatimah L. Mandangan expressed the full support of the commission in recognizing the importance of wearing a hijab.

“We reiterate our commitment to breaking down barriers and fostering a deeper understanding of the diverse ways individuals express their beliefs and values, reminding each and everyone that true strength lies in accepting and celebrating each other’s differences,” Mandangan stated.

The celebration for this year carries the theme “Veiled in Strength,” was spearheaded by the Bangsamoro Women Commission (BWC).

Present during the event were several BARMM ministries and offices, local government units, women sectors, public and private organizations from Cotabato City.

World Hijab Day is observed annually every February 1, in recognition of millions of Muslim women who choose to wear the hijab and live a life of modesty. (BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
