COTABATO CITY (March 10, 2023) — Employees of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) formulated on March 7-9 its Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system during a three-day workshop in Cotabato City.
The workshop was aimed at formulating M&E logical framework, M&E framework, and M&E plan that would help “in delivering quality service and and efficient programs” to the Bangsamoro youth.
Nabila Ysmael, unit head of project monitoring and evaluation, said a monitoring and evaluation system is critical for BYC to achieve its set goals, make its officials and employees more accountable, make evidence-based decisions.
“Our M&E system will continuously improve our practices, and communicate our programs’ impact to stakeholders,” Ysmael said.
Participants from BYC’s Technical Services Division identified and enhanced their 2023 programs’ outputs, indicators, targets, and frequency among others, that are essential in measuring both “progress towards accomplishment” and “progress towards results.”
Harris Pangcoga, who served as the workshop’s resource person said the workshop showed the inter-complimentarity of M&E Unit and all other units within BYC.
“M&E is not only for the M&E unit, but it is also for all you, all of the BYC,” Pangcoga added.
BYC is the Bangsamoro Government’s lead agency in advancing youth’s rights and welfare through policy-making, and passing mechanisms to coordinate programs for the youth by several ministries and agencies. (BYC PR Unit/RMM)
