COTABATO CITY (Dec. 14, 2023) – The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) trained about 30 youth on livelihood and social enterprise on December 12-13, 2023, in Cotabato City.
Participated in by various youth organizations and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members in Cotabato City, the training aimed to provide participants with insights into livelihood, entrepreneurship, and social enterprise, fostering an understanding of these concepts and encouraging the development of practical skills.
Ms. Rahima Hassan and Ms. Jakiya Elino of the Bangsamoro Development Authority (BDA) significantly contributed by covering topics such as the introduction to livelihood, entrepreneurship, social enterprise, basic record-keeping, components of a business plan, sources of capital, social enterprise idea generation, and an orientation on Community-based Planning Techniques (CEPT) tool.
This initiative aligns with BYC’s commitment to youth empowerment, providing participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to pursue livelihood opportunities, with a specific focus on sustainability and social impact.
Meanwhile, BYC Project Development Officer Aira M. Ampatuan highlighted the significance of seizing this opportunity for the Bangsamoro youth as it serves as a catalyst for personal growth, economic independence, and community upliftment.
BYC is an office attached to the Office of the Chief Minister, created and established by virtue of the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act No. 10. The BYC, according to the BAA 10 shall serve as the primary policy-making and coordinating body of the Bangsamoro Government in all matters affecting the youth. Further, the Commission ensures compliance therewith by all ministries, agencies, offices and other instrumentalities of the Bangsamoro(BYC PR Unit/SAMN)
