BYC, partners conduct 4th Sindaw Ramadhan 2022 in N.Cotabato

NORTH COTABATO—The Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) and partner organizations conducted Wednesday, April 27, the fourth wave of Sindaw Ramadhan 2022 Islamic symposium in Kabacan, North Cotabato – Special Geographic Areas (SGA).

This fourth episode of the program was co-organized by United Bangsamoro Youth Volunteers (UBYV), a BYC-accredited youth organization, in collaboration with the 8th Avenue Foundation.

The program gathered over 150 youth participants from different Madrasah schools and youth organizations in the town.

Highlighting the role of youth in Islamization and the significance of Laylatul-Qadr (Night of Decree), the Islamic symposium featured three resource speakers, namely Ustadha Saguira Abubakar, Ustadh Faisal Pagalad and Ustadh Usman Abdulgani.

In his message, BYC Chairperson Marjanie Macasalong stressed the importance of Islamic values being instilled among the youth.

“Ang pinu-promote ng Chief Minister natin ay ang Moral Governance at isa doon sa Moral Governance na nilalakad natin ay itong pagtuturo ng Islamic teachings and values sa ating kabataan,” Macasalong said.

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has a special geographic area in the province of Cotabato, a province that is part of the Soccsksargen region. This area consists of 63 barangays in six municipalities of Cotabato. These barangays were partitioned from Soccsksargen following a two-part plebiscite held in January and February 2019.

Meanwhile, the 8th Avenue Foundation provided free iftar to the participants and dignitaries as the last part of the program.

Sindaw Ramadhan 2022’s first, second and third episodes were held in Cotabato City, and Sultan Mastura and Shariff Aguak in the province of Maguindanao. Its fifth and last episode is set to be held this week at Mindanao State University – Maguindanao.

The Sindaw Ramadhan 2022 is a series of Islamic symposia and free iftar distribution organized by BYC and its partners with funding support from different Members of the Parliament (MP), namely MP Diamila Ramos, MP Susana Anayatin, MP Mohammad Yacob, MP Mudjib Abu, MP Romeo Saliga and MP Haron Abas.
