BYC continues crafting its communications plan

COTABATO CITY (June 2, 2023) — Employees of the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) continued crafting its Communication Strategy Plan in a two-day refinement workshop in Cotabato City.

The workshop, which was held on June 1 and 2, was aimed at reviewing and enhancing the first draft of the plan that was initially formulated during a three-day workshop held last month.

Public Relations Officer Rahib Musa said the workshop also aims to identify gaps, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in the current draft, and propose solutions to address them.

“With the participation of our colleagues from the Commission, we would want to ensure that the plan will help communicate the BYC’s priorities and activities to its target audiences,” Musa added.

The plan initially identified the youth, members of the Bangsamoro Youth Coordinating Coordinating Council (BYCC), the Bangsamoro Parliament, development partners, and other relevant institutions. These audiences were identified with key messages and activities that aim to achieve specific objectives for each of them.

Musa added that with a communications plan in place, the accountability of BYC officials and staff will increase as it identified units and offices within the Commission responsible for several activities that will result to higher institutional performance and greater programs impact.

Another workshop will be held on June 23 to finalize the said document.

In a previous statement, BYC Chairperson Marjanie Mimbantas Macasalong said developing a communication strategy plan is among the organizational strengthening efforts of BYC and forms part of the bigger institutionalization direction of the Commission. (BYC PR Unit/RMM)
